Hardwood Floor Refinishing in Steveston Village, Richmond, British Columbia

My client found me online as she was looking to reduce the red colour in these solid hardwood floors and stairs. These are Jatoba, which is also known as Brazilian Cherry. The factory finished floors had a tough coat of aluminum oxide finish, making them difficult to sand. The edges had small bevels (micro-bevels). I gave these floors an aggressive sanding to get the dark red color and micro-bevels out. Once final sanded to 120 grit, the floors were bleached twice with wood bleach. I was surprised to see that some brown and red undertones were still present after the second bleaching. Regardless, my client is ecstatic about the way they look. They were sealed with Loba EZ Prime, and finished with two coats of Loba EZ Finish in a satin sheen. Two full staircases and four landings were also sanded and refinished. This 1400 square foot project took 10 working days to complete.
