The Jatoba Job – AKA Brazilian Cherry

Brazilian cherry, also known as jatoba, is a hard, dense, exotic wood. It is harder than Canadian maple. When sanded and prepped right, jatoba will take stain beautifully. It naturally darkens rapidly with exposure to sun light. This floor had aged about five years and had darkened unevenly due to furniture and a floor rug. It was thoroughyl sanded down and stained a dark color, using Minwax / Duraseal Ebony, and coated with two coats of Poloplaz Primero, a satin oil based polyurethane.
